Women's Association
Who we are
The Women’s Association at Rye Presbyterian Church, first formed in 1872, continues to uphold its long, rich tradition of dedication to mission and giving, and to providing fellowship and support for all women in the congregation. From inception, the Women’s Association has played an important role, reaching out to those within the church, local community and in the world. This can be seen in the extraordinary success of the Thrift Shop which, since its humble beginnings in 1973 as an annual tag sale raising $2,500 – mostly all of which went to a missionary in Africa – now brings in over $80,000, proudly distributed in the form of grants to some 19-plus local charities and organizations. In addition, the Women’s Association sponsors a variety of events, such as luncheons, outings, presentations, and coffees, to which the women of the church are warmly invited to come together, learn from each other, and build lasting friendships.
