Women's Association
Who we are
The Rye Presbyterian Church Women’s Association, first formed in 1872, continues to uphold its long tradition of dedication to giving support and providing fellowship for all women in the congregation and community. The Women’s Association plays an important role by reaching out to those within the church, local community, and in the world. This can be seen in the extraordinary success of the Thrift Shop which, since its humble beginnings in 1973 as an annual tag sale raising $2,500 (most of which went to a missionary in Africa), now brings in $30,000 to $80,000, proudly distributed in the form of grants to some 19-plus local charities and organizations. In addition, the Women’s Association sponsors a variety of events, such as luncheons, outings, presentations, and coffees, to which the women of the church and volunteers are warmly invited to come together, learn from each other, and build lasting friendships.
