Youth Volunteer Opportunity - Midnight Run
Saturday, November 8
We hope that you’ll join us for RPC’s annual partnership with Midnight Run! We’ll need all hands on deck to prepare and distribute food and clothing for those who need it most in our community. There are plenty of ways for middle schoolers and high schoolers to get involved with this event! (Please note the updated schedule.)
At 1:00 p.m., middle schoolers are invited to the Rye Presbyterian Church Kitchen to help make bagged lunches that we will be passing out later that night.
At 3:30 p.m., we're looking for a few high schoolers to come with us to prepare the supplies we’ll be distributing! Meet at the Rye Presbyterian Church parking lot to go over to Larchmont Avenue Church.
At 7:45 p.m., we hope to have 3 to 4 adult drivers AND 8 to 10 high schoolers for the Midnight Run. We will first meet at Rye Presbyterian Church parking lot, and then we’ll drive over together to Larchmont Avenue Church. We will be driving to various locations late in the evening in New York City to distribute food and clothing to our unhoused neighbors!
Spots are limited, so please sign up by using the link below.
From midnightrun.org: "Midnight Run coordinates over 1,000 relief missions per year, in which volunteers from churches, synagogues, schools and other civic groups distribute food, clothing, blankets and personal care items to the homeless poor on the streets of New York City. The late-night relief efforts create a forum for trust, sharing, understanding and affection. That human exchange, rather than the exchange of goods, is the essence of the Midnight Run mission.”
