    Co-Pastor Transition Updates

During the month of June, The Transition Team (TT) was busy handing off key information and documents to the Co-Pastoral Nominating Committee (CPNC) in coordination with our Consultant, Michelle Snyder, and the Hudson River Presbytery. The Team also worked in coordination with Reverend Love and Charles Park on the creation of marketing materials for the CPNC's work ahead (more on this below).

The CNPC is now busy at work internally, focusing on initial orientation to support the upcoming co-pastor calling  process. This work will continue throughout the summer. Focus items include:

    • Committee orientation and process mapping

Deep dive with Hudson River Presbytery regarding the process

Understanding feedback from the RPC CAT survey to inform the recruitment process

Setting up subcommittees tasked with managing the CNPC, outreach, and vetting of candidates

Creating cadence for communication with RPC’s Transition Team

The TT is now focused on the next steps, which include:

    • Liaising with the CPNC, as needed
    • TT will continue to be a resource for the CPNC and will remain the primary party communicating with the congregation and church staff
    • Serve as a resource for CNPC, as needed, to provide external support*

     * One highlight of TT support was the creation of an "About RPC" video that was filmed before Reverend Love went on leave.  This short video is a support tool for the CNPC as they interact with potential candidates by providing a personal touch.  A VERY special thanks to both Dan and Charles Park (our resident tech giant) for making it happen on short notice.

     Christian Education Transition Updates

Likewise, during the month of June, our team worked, in coordination with the Christian Education Committee, on laying the groundwork for the operational items ahead as Reverend JP prepares for his new call.

Our team remains incredibly confident in the interim plan to ensure no interruptions to any element of Youth Programming at our Church (this includes: Sunday School in the Fall and all other youth programs). Designees have been internally determined to help spearhead initiatives.

The TT will continue to provide updates over the summer, and we will share the congregation’s excitement about the next chapter in the life of RPC! We keep Rev. JP in our prayers as he embarks upon his new call. Likewise, we keep Rev. Love in our prayers as he continues his healing journey on this medical leave.

    In Faith,

    Cally Bruce and Carl Friedrich
