Transition Team - April update

Highlights from April…and Looking ahead to May:

On Sunday, April 21, the Transition Team worked alongside our church consultant, Michelle Snyder, to host the last in our series of Congregational Conversations. This final Conversation was attended by ~40 persons, including representatives from our choir as well as ordained and lay members of our church. The topics covered included:

    • A robust “Rip Van Winkle” Exercise during which the participants imagined they had fallen asleep for ten years and had to explain what RPC looks like, upon waking up.
    • A “big ideas” segment during which we discussed bluesky initiatives attendees care about.

In addition to the final Conversational Conversations, we hosted a Youth CAT Review–engaging our Youth in our process and ensuring their awareness of the opportunity for formal involvement in the Co-Pastoral Nominating Committee (CPNC).

At this point, the Transition Team is completing its work for this phase of its mission by creating a job description and toolkit for the to-be-named CPNC to use when they recruit a new pastor.  This job description and toolkit are hoped to be completed in the first three weeks of May. Likewise, the Nominating Committee has begun its work in selecting the CPNC.
