RPC - Helping out after Sandy - November 8

Posted by The Rev. Dan Love on

Working through our Presbyterian connections in Staten Island they are requesting specific items this week.  We will gather them here at RPC and plan on driving them down Saturday.  Please bring items to the Assembly Room at RPC anytime before Saturday at 10.
Here are the latest needs:

·         BLANKETS (there is also need for these in a local shelter)

·         Coats (new preferred)

·         waterproof boots

·         new socks

·         new underwear (adult)

·         new t-shirts (adult)

We will also be assembling Emergency Clean-up Bucket Kits.  To help purchase items needed for these kits, click on this link to sign up.  (You will have to “rsvp” to do so.)  While it says it is a Saturday “event,” supplies can be dropped off before then.

Sandy Relief Special Offering – now with on-line giving

Mission & Outreach has begun a special offering to aid Sandy victims and has decided to send your generous gifts to Presbyterian Disaster Assistance.  Known for excellent work and its partnerships throughout the world, PDA is particularly well-positioned in the NYC area to address the immediate and long-term needs in the wake of Sandy – including work through the church RPC connected with on Staten Island.  If you’d like to contribute, checks can be made out to RPC with Sandy Relief on the memo line.  You can also make a donation via PayPal – just click here.
