Sunday School Volunteers and Teaching Assistants
Here at Rye Presbyterian Church we seek to guide and nurture children on their journey of faith, encouraging them to know and follow Christ as faithful disciples. We strive to provide a welcoming environment for children to engage Scripture, ask faith questions, and grow closer to God and our community of faith. We invite you to join in on that work through two opportunities:
-Teaching Volunteer: Teaching is done in teams, providing a support system among fellow volunteers and a rotating schedule. You are invited to teach regularly (one-two times a month) or serve as a substitute (when needed). All lessons are prepared for you so volunteers can reflect on the lessons ahead of time. We will be holding a Teaching Orientation on Saturday, September 15, 9:00-10:30 a.m., in the Assembly Room for all returning teachers and anyone interested in teaching this year. Childcare will be provided.
-Teaching Assistant: High school students are invited to join in this work as well as a Teaching Assistant. Each assistant will assist one of our Teaching Volunteers in leading our Sunday morning classes. If you have a passion for working with children and/or teaching, this is a great opportunity to live into that passion within our community of faith. Also, we do offer community service hours for each morning you help teach.
